:: Meet Mabel ::

Hi guys!
I know that I’ve been MIA for a while–and I just have to admit it: I’m a bad blogger. But don’t worry, its a good thing I’ve been scarce. I’ve been busy sewing up orders, wrapping up photo shoots, reworking some branding (including new labels!) designing my new collection (stay tuned!!) and oh yeah, working my buns off!

Anyway, I got so excited about this new project I have on the horizon that I just had to share it with you, and I’m making a promise to stick with blogging about it ’till the end!

Last week, I picked up an amazing vintage Singer 201 sewing machine for a whopping $40.00. She is in great working condition, but obviously needs a little love. I checked out some repair shops, and even a specialist across the country that can paint these models any color…but I’ve decided to refurbish her myself!

The paint is chipping, and the cabinet needs some refinishing, and I’m sure there’s going to be some mechanical work involved. So here is my 1st post and her re-introduction into the world!

I’ve been hunting around for information online, and have even found some people that do this professionally. My mission here is to learn a lot, uncover a great product, and see if this is worth ever repeating!

Tomorrow I’ll do some more research and see if I can trace my machine to its exact year and origin, and take some better close up photos before I start taking her apart! I’ll be sure to follow up with photos and my experiences in my refurbishing adventure.
