Since it’s one of my last days here in sunny Arizona, I thought it only appropriate to share with you some fun facts about the state that has been my home for the past month.

My sister, who is the queen of fun mail, sent me a nice little postcard upon our arrival here, and as always, she shared with me some great stuff.

So here are some fun, surprising, and just odd facts about the Grand Canyon state…

♥Four Corners is noted as the one place in the United States where a person can be in 4 places at once.

♥The hottest recorded day in Pheonix, AZ was June 26th, 1990, when the temperature hit 122 degrees F.

♥In AZ, it is against the law for Donkeys to sleep in bathtubs.

♥Arizona is roughly the size of Italy.

♥The amount of copper on the roof of the Capitol Building is equal to 4,800,000 pennies.

♥In AZ, it is unlawful to refuse a person a glass of water.

♥In Mesa, it is illegal to smoke cigarettes within 15 feet of a public place unless you have a Class 12 liquor license.

♥There is a possible 25 years in prison for cutting down a cactus.

♥When being attacked by a criminal or burglar in Arizona, you may only protect yourself with the same weapon that the other person possesses.

♥The state fish is the Arizona Trout, which are found only in Arizona.

♥The state flower is the Siguaro Cactus Blossom.

♥The state fossil is Petrified Wood. Hmm…

♥The state neckwear is the Bolo Tie. So fashionable.

♥The sun shines in southern Arizona 85% of the time, which is considerably more sunshine than Florida or Hawaii.

♥The famous gunfight at the O.K. Corral only lasted about thirty seconds.

So there you have it. Some amazingly fun facts about this sunny, sandy state. I shall miss you Arizona!
